Digital Radiology
Digital radiography (DR) is an advanced form of X-ray that produces a 2-dimensional digital radiographic image instantly on a computer. This technique uses X-ray sensitive plates to capture data during object examination, which is immediately transferred to a computer.

By offering this service, it allows our veterinary team to view the images that assist in diagnosis and start treatment promptly.
PennHIP Radiographs
Alton Animal Clinic now offers PennHIP Radiographs screening which is a technique to evaluate the laxity (looseness) in canine hips to determine their risk of developing ‘degenerative joint disease’. You can learn more about PennHIP Radiographs at the Antech Imaging Service website.
Ultrasound
Diagnostic ultrasound, also called sonography or diagnostic medical sonography, is an imaging method that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of structures within your pet’s body.
Why is it useful?
Offering ultrasound allows us to non-invasively produce images that provide valuable information for diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases and conditions.
In-House Laboratory
Our in-house lab allows us to promptly receive your pet’s test results. Many tests can be run in a few minutes so we can immediately start treatment if needed.
